Low Sodium Recipe Websites

Here are a few of the Low Sodium recipe websites that I've found:

Low Fat does not mean Low Sodium

One of the ironies I've found is that when a food is labeled as "Low Fat", that it generally also means "Higher in Sodium".  Odd, but true.

I guess that they have to add salt to make up for the flavor lost in the fats.

Always, always check the Nutritional Guide information on the food's label, or their website.

Most of the national restaurant and fast food chains have Nutritional Information for their menu items.

I've found that it's easier for me to make the right choice at the restaurant (or the drive up window), if I have already chosen the low sodium offering long before going to the location.  I've even added some of the selections to my cell phone, so if a friend decides to suddenly go to a popular restaurant, I have my meal selection handy.

Day One

Welcome.  I decided to make a new blog for those of us wanting (or needing) to reduce the amount of sodium in our diets.  I'm now on the needing to side.

I hope to have recipes I find here, as well as tips on reducing the amount of sodium intake in our meals.

Please feel free to send me any ideas, thoughts, websites, or recipes that may help.
